GH testing

So we went into the city for J's GH testing. When we go there, they told me that they were going to do a different test than the one planned, because he is so small. They were afraid of adverse reactions to the full blown test, with the IV continually giving him meds... so they did a short 4 hours test... He was a champ... after they injuected the meds, we had to wait 90 minutes for the first blood draw. We played games, and had a good time... but all of a sudden he came over and climbed into my lap and went limp... The tech freaked, was yelling out the door for someone to find the Dr... Another nurse came in.. he wasn't responding to touch, voice, or anything... can you say freaked out?

So anyway, after a few minutes, he opened his eyes, but would not respond to us. I had to hold him up as they took blood and tried to get him to drink some juice (this was a fasting test)... a few minutes later, he was talking, but still not sitting by himself... but he was concious.. so he slept in my arms from teh next hour... After they took the 2nd vile of blood, he was allowed to eat. He slept all teh way home.

We go back on March 9th to talk to the dr about the results.

THEN, we get home, and I was snoozing on the couch (been a stressful day), and the phone rings.. it was the pulmnologist who did his sleep study, way back in Dec. Basically he didn't really sleep.. she said he never entered REM sleep... never slept for more than 10 minutes... and they were STILL able to detect Apnea... OMG... she said it looks mild on the test results, but because he hadn't even gone into REM sleep, it is prob much worse than it looks...

So on to another set of specialists.. does it ever end?
